Watching up to 500 pieces of equipment through the same screen, whether they sit on the customer’s own server or in the cloud. KAITECH built the remote monitoring and management platform an MSP provider needed to offer its own customers.
■ The Challenge
This customer is the Singapore office of a Japanese corporation, and needed a software foundation to support a new managed-service-provider (MSP) business — one that could promise future customers fleet monitoring and real-time machine-status updates. The platform had to support up to 500 devices connected simultaneously, and needed to run on private, local or cloud-based servers depending on the site.
■ Our Approach
KAITECH built a remote monitoring and management platform with the edge site (a local dashboard on-premise) kept separate from the cloud side (a dashboard on a VPC). Device communication runs through an abstraction layer that supports multiple protocols and agent types, designed to integrate with a range of existing robot and equipment vendors’ APIs. Device configuration, threshold settings, access control and notification scheduling all exist on both the edge and cloud sides, giving each customer the flexibility to run private, local, or cloud-based deployments as needed.
■ Results & Highlights
- Built an architecture supporting up to 500 devices connected simultaneously
- Delivered the flexibility to run in private, local, or cloud environments as needed
- Synchronized data between edge and cloud to work within each site’s constraints
- Provided the technical foundation the customer needed to launch its new MSP business
■ Why KAITECH Was The Right Fit
A platform meant to launch a new business needs an architecture built for future scale and multi-tenant operation from day one. KAITECH designed an architecture that keeps edge and cloud separate while still delivering one consistent experience, working alongside the customer’s partners throughout development.
